PISTIL

by INDIA MAHDAVI

Pistil is cast from a single piece of handmade glass, shaped to evoke the stylised form of a flower. The casting process produces subtle ripples on the underside, giving the table a tactile, dynamic surface where slight irregularities celebrate natural imperfection. Inspired by flowers as motifs, the piece balances playful, cartoon-like aesthetics with technical sophistication. By rendering fragile organic forms in resilient glass, it reflects on impermanence and preservation, highlighting the fleeting beauty of nature while demonstrating mastery in the material.
