Embodying a seamless dialogue between contemporary artistic vision and master glassmaking, the Imago coffee table is a bespoke creation designed by Filippo Carandini for Nilufar Gallery, engineered and meticulously manufactured by WonderGlass.

The piece takes its name from the Latin word for image, reflection, and likeness, exploring the concept of a lost solar age through the shifting play of light. To bring this profound concept into physical form, WonderGlass utilised traditional, handmade cast glass techniques to produce layered glass plates and mirrored frames.

The true magic of the piece lies in its technical execution: an ancestral layer of silvering is applied behind the heavy, highly tactile body of the glass, creating a depth of dispersed reflections that shift continuously depending on the surrounding environment and light source. Through this collaborative process, the glass transcends its traditional transparency, becoming a rich, structural medium that evokes a mythical past.
