MAREA
by ATELIER OЇ
Part of the Gaïa collection, Marea, named for the rise and fall of the tide, captures the impression of light moving across water. Cast glass discs are stacked and suspended, each featuring radial micro-grooves at their base that cast a shimmering pattern when illuminated, reminiscent of stars sparkling on a water surface. Suspended ‘floating’ pendulums above the discs are held by the earth’s magnetic forces, directing light downwards and enhancing the dynamic effect of moving patterns that echo the gentle rhythm of rippling water.
Numbered Edition.
