LUNA ROSSA

by ANDREA ANASTASIO

Luna Rossa draws inspiration from the cascading grandeur of Hokusai’s Amida Waterfall and the emotive melody of the Neapolitan song from which it takes its name. Combining industrial precision with artisanal craft, its lunar-like surface texture and subtle irregularities are achieved through the glass fusing process. The striking red waterfall motif is composed of conterie: tiny Murano glass beads originally threaded into long strands by skilled impiraresse. The work embodies a sense of longing and contemplation, creating an artistic resonance between sound and image.
