Lab Edition’s chemical science apparatus draws light into liquid reservoirs, restaging the moment of becoming – the first interaction of light and water, drawing energy from the sun, allowing for life on earth. A sequence of mirrored lenses, hand blown round bottom flasks, teardrop stems and spigots arrests this ephemeral moment, turning the microsecond into an eternal source of illumination – a living, self-sustaining system.
